The fun of the circus, a popular movie production technique and Easter fun will combine to make this month’s Gannawarra Library Service school holiday program memorable for participants.

Six events will be held at the library service’s branches at Cohuna, Kerang and Leitchville across a 10-day period.

“The Gannawarra Library Service is pleased to have put together a program of events that will cater for children of all ages,” Gannawarra Library Service Manager, Kerri Sidorow said.

Budding filmmakers, aged seven years and older, will be able to learn about Claymation during a workshop with Steve Lo Casto at the Cohuna Library on Tuesday, 9 April from 11am. Admission is $5 per child, which must be paid at the time of booking. Phone (03) 5452 1546 for more details.

Those wanting to learn how to make animals out of balloons will enjoy one-hour sessions being held at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Tuesday, 9 April from 2pm and the Cohuna Library on Thursday, 18 April from 11am.

With Easter also occurring during the school holidays, those who take part in the Hatching Chicks sessions will be able to make their own funky chickens. Sessions will be held at the Cohuna Library on Monday, 15 April at 10am; the Leitchville Library on Tuesday, 16 April at 2.30pm; and Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Wednesday, 17 April at 10.30am.

Meanwhile, Gannawarra Shire Council is proud to be bringing the Splash Test Dummies to the Kerang Memorial Hall on Thursday, 11 April, with the trio renowned for their comedy, improvisational skills and all-round fun.

The 55-minute show will begin at 1pm, with tickets $16 for those five years and older. Children aged four and under may attend for free. In an added coup for the Shire, the Dummies will also run two workshops during the school holidays.

A Circus Skills workshop will be held at the Kerang Memorial Hall on Thursday, 11 April at 3pm, with the Cohuna Memorial Hall to host a Physical Theatre session on Friday, 12 April at 10am. Both workshops are suitable for people aged seven and over, with admission $10.

Tickets to the Splash Test Dummies performance and workshops can be purchased from Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang, or online at www.trybooking.com/YHKJ
