Reconciliation Week walk change of venue

Due to forecast rainfall, tomorrow’s Reconciliation Week celebrations at Kerang will now finish at the Kerang Memorial Hall.

Gannawarra Shire Council, Northern District Community Health, Mallee District Aboriginal Services and the Kerang Elders Group have united to organise a morning of events, beginning with a flag raising ceremony outside the Kerang Council Chambers at 10am.

Following this ceremony, local leaders and residents will walk to the Memorial Hall via Wellington, Fitzroy, Scoresby and Nolan streets.

Events occurring at the Memorial Hall, which begin at 10.30am, include a Welcome to Country, smoking ceremony, story time featuring the Tyipen Kwe performers and a free barbecue lunch.
