Celebrations will be held throughout the Gannawarra on Sunday, 26 January to mark Australia Day.

Council is supporting community groups hosting celebrations at Barham/Koondrook, Cohuna, Kerang, Lake Charm, Leitchville, Murrabit and Quambatook, with funding to be provided to event hosts to make these festivities possible.

Celebrations will include a breakfast or barbecue dinner, depending on the time of day, a flag raising ceremony and recognition of community award winners.

Details regarding guest speakers will be added once confirmed.

2025 Australia Day celebration locations

Barham/Koondrook (Riverside Park, Barham)

8am Breakfast

8.45am: Flag raising and ceremony

 

Cohuna (Garden Park)

7.30am Breakfast

8.30am: Flag raising and ceremony

Guest speaker: Georgia Anderson

 

Kerang (Atkinson Park)

7.30am: Breakfast and flag raising ceremony

9am: Flag raising and ceremony

Guest speakers: Doug Fehring and Mal Johnson

 

Lake Charm (Lake Charm Hall)

8am Breakfast

 

Leitchville (Leitchville Sporting Complex)

5.30pm: Barbecue dinner

6pm: Flag raising, Australian Citizenship ceremony and official proceedings

Murrabit (Murrabit Market site)

8am: Breakfast

9am: Flag raising and ceremony

Guest speaker: Nathan Henry

 

Quambatook (Quambatook Memorial Hall)

8.30am: Breakfast
