Gannawarra Shire Council’s achievements undertaken during the 2020/21 financial year are outlined in the 2021 Annual Report.
Presented to the October 2021 Council Meeting and submitted to the Minister for Local Government, the 2021 Annual Report features a range of information about the Gannawarra and Council’s achievements during 2020/21. The document also includes a variety of photographs and images which showcase the region and community support and services delivered by Council to the community.
“The Gannawarra can look back on 2020/21 with pride, with the community achieving numerous successes despite the challenges presented due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mayor Charlie Gillingham said.
“Gannawarra Shire Council completed a record number of capital works projects during 2020/21, highlighted by Cohuna Beach, Koondrook Retreat and the various initiatives supported by the Drought Communities Programme.
“Council also continued to provide key services that supported the Gannawarra’s most vulnerable residents during the COVID-19 pandemic, including Maternal and Child Health, aged and disability services, children’s services and immunisation programs.”
The 2021 Annual Report also features Council’s Audited Financial Statements and Audited Performance Statement for the 2020/21 financial year.
“The Financial Statements showed Council recorded an underlying surplus for a third successive year, which is a significant achievement for a small rural municipality,” Mayor Gillingham said.
