2023 Council Meeting dates confirmed

Gannawarra Shire Council will hold 12 Meetings of Council in 2023.

The schedule of meetings for the coming year was approved at the November 2022 Council Meeting, with the current structure of monthly meetings between February and December retained.

“Meetings of Council enable Councillors to consider and make decisions on matters of public interest, including, but not limited to, financial matters, planning, policies and projects,” Mayor Charlie Gillingham said.

“Council Meetings held during 2022 have occurred at locations ranging from the Kerang Senior Citizens Centre, as well as virtually via Zoom.

“These meetings have also been livestreamed or recorded, enabling residents to watch proceedings live or at a later time from the comfort of home.”

As part of the schedule for 2023, meetings will be held at the Kerang Senior Citizens Centre, located at 169 Boundary Street, Kerang on the third Wednesday of the month at 10am, with the exception of the June meeting which will be held on the fourth Wednesday due to the clash with the Australian Local Government Association National General Assembly in Canberra.

A meeting to elect a Mayor for 2023/24 will be held on Monday, 6 November at 9am.

For those unable to attend any of these meetings, a video of proceedings will be available to view at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/meetings within 24 hours after the completion of the meeting.

“Any changes to these arrangements, including the time and location of meetings, will be promoted via Council’s Facebook page, website, Gannawarra News and Gannawarra Connect,” Mayor Gillingham said.
