2023 School Transition in Gannawarra guide published

Gannawarra Shire Council continues to assist families with children about to transition to Prep or Year Seven studies, with the 2023 edition of the School Transition in Gannawarra guide now available online.

Developed in partnership between Council, local schools and organisations offering family services to the Gannawarra community, the seventh edition of the guide is the first to be a digital-only guide, which can be downloaded from the Strategic Document page at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/documents

“Since its development, the School Transition in Gannawarra guide has become a helpful document for families enrolling their children in Prep or Year Seven,” Mayor Gillingham said.

“As with previous editions, the guide highlights the choice in services available to the Gannawarra community and provides information to assist families to make decisions that support educational outcomes and personal growth and development of their children.”

The publication of the 2023 edition of the guide coincides with Education Week, occurring from today to Saturday, 20 May, with schools throughout the Gannawarra planning events to coincide with celebrations.

“I encourage all parents with children enrolling in Prep or Year 7 in 2024 to use the booklet to assist with making any decisions regarding your child’s academic journey,” Mayor Gillingham said.

“I congratulate the Council staff involved in the production of this booklet and thank all schools featured for their cooperation.”
