2024 Annual Report celebrates Council's achievements

Gannawarra Shire Council’s achievements undertaken during the 2023/24 financial year are outlined in the Gannawarra Shire Council Annual Report 2024.

Presented to the October 2024 Council Meeting, the Gannawarra Shire Council Annual Report 2024 features a range of information about the Gannawarra and Council’s achievements during 2023/24, including major projects completed and details relating to funding Council provided to community groups and organisations. The document also includes a variety of photographs and images which showcase the region and community support, and services delivered by Council to the community.

“Council’s response to the Christmas Day 2023 and early January 2024 storms and flash flooding, as well as our continued recovery from the 2022 floods, was a strong focus during the 2023/24 financial year,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

“Ensuring Council manages economic challenges and financial limitations whilst maintaining levels of service our residents expect was another focus of 2023/24. Council spent considerable time during 2023/24

identifying savings to ensure we can continue to provide services and maintain assets whilst being economically responsible, with this work assisting in the preparation of the 2024/25 Budget.

“Communities across the Gannawarra also benefited from the completion of major capital works projects, made possible thanks to partnerships with the State and Federal governments. These works included Stages 3 and 4 of the Kerang CBD Redevelopment, the Kangaroo Lake North End jetty and improvements to play spaces at the Cohuna and District Preschool Centre and the Gannawarra Shire Children’s Centre.”

The Gannawarra Shire Council Annual Report 2024 builds on the design refresh undertaken during the development of previous editions of the annual report, with reports outlining Council’s efforts in achieving goals outlined in the Growing Gannawarra – 2021-2025 Council Plan Year Three Action Plan and its performance in the Local Government Performance Reporting Framework presented in an easy-to-read format.

The Gannawarra Shire Council Annual Report 2024 also features Council’s Audited Financial Statements and Audited Performance Statement for the 2023/24 financial year.
