Families needing to access vaccinations for their children, as well as influenza and other vaccines, will be able to do so from Gannawarra Shire Council’s popular immunisation program throughout 2025.
Sessions will be held at Cohuna and Kerang from Wednesday, 8 January 2025 through to Wednesday, 17 December 2025.
“Council’s immunisation sessions are an ideal way for families to ensure that their children are able to receive their scheduled vaccinations on time to protect against vaccine preventable diseases,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
Immunisation sessions will be held at the Gannawarra Shire Children’s Centre, Kerang on the first Wednesday of the month between February and December from 10.30am to 12 noon, as well as on the third Wednesday of the month from February and December between 4pm and 5.30pm.
Sessions are also held at the Cohuna Maternal and Child Health Centre on the third Wednesday of the month from February to December from 10.30am to 12 noon.
Residents are advised that a one-off session will also be held on Wednesday, 8 January at Cohuna from 10.30am-12 noon and Kerang from 4pm-5.30pm.
“People who are being vaccinated need to stay on-site for 15 minutes after their appointment to ensure they are observed and cared for by Council’s nurse immuniser,” Mr Rollinson said.
Bookings for all Council immunisation sessions are essential, which can be done by phoning Council’s Customer Service Centre on (03) 5450 9333.
Immunisation sessions are advertised in Council’s Gannawarra News and Gannawarra Connect publications, as well as Council’s Facebook page.
