Parents with babies and young children will be able to experience the fun of lawn bowls during a special event later this month.
Gannawarra Shire Council, VicHealth and Bowls Victoria are uniting to host a free Bowling with Babies session at the Kerang Bowling Club on Friday, 25 October from 10.30am.
All equipment will be provided on the day, with light refreshments available for participants.
“Bowling with Babies brings new and expecting parents together to enjoy a coffee, a chat and a social roll,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
“The program aims to assist parents to become more active and enable them time to focus on their physical wellbeing in a fun, relaxing and comfortable environment that is child-friendly.”

The Bowling with Babies session is one of the lawn bowls-themed activities occurring throughout the Gannawarra during the final weekend of October 2019, with the Quambatook Silo Cinema screening the Australian movie, Crackerjack on Saturday, 26 October.
Starring Mick Molloy, Judith Lucy and Samuel Johnson, the movie focuses on a lawn bowls club whose future is in jeopardy and a layabout’s role in saving the facility from a businessman looking for a takeover opportunity.
“The Quambatook Silo Cinema is renowned as a tourism highlight for not only the town of Quambatook, but also the Gannawarra,” Mayor Learmonth said.
“I encourage residents and visitors alike to grab a chair, a blanket and head along to the Quambatook Silo Cinema and enjoy a movie under the big Mallee sky.”
