The Gannawarra Library Service is celebrating National Science Week with free robotics and coding workshops occurring at its Cohuna and Kerang branches this August.
Thanks to funding from the National Science Week Community Grant Program, the library service and twistED Science, Echuca are teaming up for workshops occurring on Saturday, 13 August at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library from 10am and the Cohuna Library from 1pm.
“The Gannawarra Library Service is pleased to be joining universities, schools, research institutions, libraries, museums and science centres across Australia hosting events during National Science Week, which runs from 13-21 August,” Gannawarra Shire Council Acting Chief Executive Officer, Phil Higgins said.
“First held in 1997, National Science Week provides people with the opportunity to talk, see and do science.”
The workshops, suitable for primary school children, involve participants using Ozobots to learn more about robotics and coding.
“These workshops are an opportunity for children who enjoy STEM subjects, including Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, to learn more about these important skills,” Mr Higgins said.
“These workshops could also inspire our young people to be our next tech gurus.”
Places in the two workshops are limited. To book your spot, phone (03) 5452 1546.
