Cohuna Swimming Pool condition assessed
Published on 25 November 2019
Gannawarra Shire Council is assessing the condition of the Cohuna Swimming Pool following the discovery of exposed joint seals in the main pool.
The main pool remains open as the assessment is occurring, with lanes closed and signage in place advising of the changed conditions around the area where the joint seals are exposed. This has not affected the water quality with enjoyable swimming conditions for all pool users.
“We want visitors to the Cohuna Swimming Pool to experience the facility and its picturesque location adjacent to the Gunbower Creek, but at the same time do not want to risk public safety,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
Contactors have been engaged to assess the affected section of the pool, with the repairs to be completed this week.
“Council will endeavour to keep Cohuna Swimming Pool users up to date on the status of this matter,” Mayor Learmonth said.
