Published on 19 July 2023
A decision to revert to holding Council Meetings in the evening was discussed at Gannawarra Shire Council’s July 2023 meeting, held at the Kerang Senior Citizens Centre on 19 July 2023.
Councillors requested to move meeting times for the remainder of 2023 from 10am on the third Wednesday of the month at the Kerang Senior Citizens Centre to 6pm on the third Wednesday of the month at the same venue to provide better opportunities for the public to attend meetings.
Other outcomes of the meeting included:
- Endorsing the reviewed Policy No. 142 – Public Art;
- Receiving and noting the summary of the discussions of the Audit and Risk Committee meeting held on 20 June 2023;
- Approval of planning permit application for the use and development of land at Macorna North for a 2,000 standard cattle unit beef cattle feedlot, subject to conditions;
- Rejecting a request to fly a dove flag from Council installations for reconciliation on International Human Rights Day on 10 December 2023 on the grounds that the purpose of the application to display the flag did not align with Council Policy No. 148 - Flags.
- Seeking a report regarding the VNI West project, which is to be presented to the August 2023 Council Meeting; and
- That Council writes to North Central Catchment Management Authority regarding the flooding of Gunbower Forest for a third consecutive year.
