Council Meeting wrap - October 2024

The receival of the Gannawarra Shire Council Annual Report 2024 was the highlight of the October 2024 Council Meeting.

Held at the Cohuna Community Meeting Room on Wednesday, 16 October, the meeting was the last to occur in the current Council term.

Due to Council operating under caretaker provisions, items that could only be received and noted could be presented at the meeting, with the Gannawarra Shire Council Annual Report 2024 the major item discussed.

Covering the period from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024, the Gannawarra Shire Council Annual Report 2024 features a range of information about the Gannawarra and Council’s achievements during 2023/24, including major projects completed and details relating to funding Council provided to community groups and organisations.

The document also includes a variety of photographs and images which showcase the region and services delivered by Council to the community, as well as the Victorian Auditor General Office-approved 2024 financial and performance statements.

The Gannawarra Shire Council Annual Report 2024 can be downloaded online at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/Annual_Reports or viewed at Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang.

The summary and discussions of the Audit and Risk Committee meeting held on 10 September 2024 were also received and noted.

The next meeting of Council, which will involve the swearing in of all elected Councillors for the 2024-2028 term and the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor, will occur in mid-November. Details relating to the meeting’s date and location will be promoted once confirmed.
