Council Services to reopen as COVID-19 restrictions lift

Gannawarra Shire Council is pleased to announce that various services will be reopened following the easing of Regional Victorian restrictions announced this morning by the State Government that will come into effect from 11:59 pm Thursday, 9 September 2021.
The easing of restrictions allow most of the following services to resume from Friday 10 September as follows:
- The Kerang Customer Service Centre will re-open for face-to-face transactions from 8.30 am
- The Cohuna Customer Service Centre will re-open for face-to-face transactions from 10 am
- Gannawarra Library Service branches will return to pre-lockdown operating hours with density limits
- The L2P Driver Mentor Program will recommence
- Outdoor gyms equipment and skate parks will reopen
- Kindergarten and childcare, including family daycare, will be re-open to all families from Friday 10 September.
- The Gateway to Gannawarra Visitor Centre will re-open at 9am and
- From Monday, 4 October the Social Meals program is planned to resume in accordance with density limits for host venues
“Council thanks residents for their patience during the lockdown and for their great initiative so far in getting vaccinated and continuing to implement COVID-safe measures throughout the community” Council CEO, Tom O’Reilly said.
“Gannawarra is one of the leaders in the State with current vaccination rates for people receiving their first dose in the Gannawarra Shire above 64% which is a credit to the community” Mr. O’Reilly added.
