Council service changes during snap lockdown

Gannawarra Shire Council’s Customer Service Offices at Cohuna and Kerang will be closed to face-to-face transactions from Thursday, 5 August, following the recent announcement of a state-wide seven-day snap lockdown from 8pm tonight.

During this time, residents will be able to contact Council during the lockdown period in the following ways:

• By phoning the Customer Service Centre on (03) 5450 9333 during business hours;

• By e-mailing council@gannawarra.vic.gov.au at any time;

• By visiting www.gsc.vic.gov.au and chatting live with a staff member during business hours;

• By lodging a request form at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/request at any time; and

• By writing to PO Box 287, Kerang VIC 3579.

 

The altered Customer Service Centre arrangements coincide with service and program changes that are currently in place until restrictions are eased as deemed by the State Government:

• The closure of Gannawarra Library Service branches at Cohuna, Kerang, Leitchville and Quambatook. Members can borrow books at this time by contacting their local library branch or visiting www.gsc.vic.gov.au/libraries

• The closure of the Kerang Exercise Pool, with Warra Waders swimming lessons cancelled;

• The closure of the Gateway to Gannawarra Visitor Centre;

• The cancellation of any facility bookings during this time;

• The cancellation of Social Meals sessions planned during the lockdown period;

• The cancellation of the L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program

All Council-managed kindergarten, family day care and long day care services, as well as other Council services will continue to operate during the lockdown period.

“Please note that during this time residents may only leave their home for one of five reasons. These are to shop for food and supplies; authorised work reasons; authorised work or education if you can’t do it from homecare and caregiving; exercise for up to two hours and with one other person, or receiving a vaccination,” Mr O’Reilly said.

“note of these reason Shopping and exercise must be done within 5km of your home or the nearest location.”

“Face coverings must also be carried at all times and must be worn indoors and outdoors except within your own home, or if an exemption applies.”
