Council to seek new Chief Executive Officer

Gannawarra Shire Council will soon begin the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer after deciding not to offer a new contact to current Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly.

Councillors adopted a recommendation at the July 2022 Council Meeting to begin the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer, with Mr O’Reilly’s contract to expire on 21 December 2022.

“Council thanks Tom for his passionate commitment to the Gannawarra since he was appointed Chief Executive Officer in December 2017,” Mayor Charlie Gillingham said.

“Tom has been instrumental in assisting Council succeed strategic guidelines outlined in the 2017-2021 Gannawarra Shire Council Plan and the Growing Gannawarra – 2021-2025 Council Plan, as well as ensuring Council continues to provides key services to the community.

“Tom’s tenure as CEO has also included the Gannawarra being recognised at State and national level, especially for our work in promoting environmental sustainability, the creative community, nature-based tourism initiatives and our high achieving young staff members.”
