Efforts to repair Gannawarra Shire Council-managed infrastructure damaged during the October-November 2022 floods will soon begin.
Council held an Unscheduled Meeting on 3 January to award a panel of contractors to undertake repairs to roads, drainage and other associated works resulting from major flooding of the Avoca, Loddon and Murray rivers, as well as other tributaries.
“The Gannawarra was significantly impacted by the October-November 2022 floods, with preliminary costs to repair Council-managed infrastructure estimated to be up to $50 million,” Mayor Charlie Gillingham said.
“By appointing these nine contractors, works will soon commence to repair our road network to a pre-flood standard.”
Regular updates regarding flood repair works will be provided via Council’s website, Gannawarra News, Gannawarra Connect and Council’s Facebook page.
