Spaces for events occurring later this month as part of the Gannawarra Library Service’s popular summer school holidays program are filling fast.

Five activities are planned for the service’s Cohuna and Kerang branches, catering for children of all ages and interests.

“The Gannawarra Library Service team does an amazing job in providing various activities for families to enjoy during the school holidays, and what is planned for this month is no exception,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

The holiday fun will begin at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Tuesday, 14 January at 10.30am, where children aged eight years and older will be able to create their own succulent garden in a terracotta pot.

Children aged five years and older will enjoy making their own minibeasts from wooden clothes pegs during a session occurring at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Thursday, 16 January at 10.30am, with the same venue hosting an origami paper planes session on Tuesday, 21 January at 10.30am.

The Cohuna Library will host two sessions as part of the program – a plaster painting session on Thursday, 16 January from 10.30am and a Build it with Bunnings workshop occurring on Tuesday, 22 January from 10.30am.

Bookings for all activities are essential, with all children participating to be accompanied by an adult. For bookings or for more information, visit the Events and Programs page at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/libraries or phone (03) 5452 1546.

The library service’s popular Big Summer Read program is also occurring throughout January, with children and young adults who read or listen to books during the school holidays eligible for some great prizes.
