Families will be able to experience two weeks of activities this September and October thanks to the Gannawarra Library Service’s school holiday program.

Five free activities will be on offer between Tuesday, 24 September and Thursday, 3 October at the service’s Cohuna and Kerang branches, catering for children of all ages.

“The Gannawarra Library Service’s school holiday program is a popular way for families to spend time together whilst completing various activities,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

The library service has partnered with Bunnings for two special events – a Build It session occurring at the Cohuna Library on Tuesday, 24 September from 2.30pm, and a Gardening Workshop occurring at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Thursday, 3 October from 11am.

“Both sessions will involve participants working with a staff member from Bunnings to build things or complete a garden activity,” Mr Rollinson said.

Three other activities will occur at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library during the holidays – a Wooden Flying Bird session on Thursday, 26 September from 10.30am, and Fly a Kite events occurring on Wednesday, 25 September at 10.30am and Tuesday, 1 October at 10.30am.

“These sessions will involve children working with their parents or guardians to construct a keepsake depending on the session: a kite to fly on a spring, windy day, or a bird that, when hung, can flap its wings,” Mr Rollinson said.

Bookings for all sessions are essential, with all children participating to be accompanied by an adult. Bookings can be completed online by visiting www.trybooking.com/CUWQP. Alternatively, families can phone the Gannawarra Library Service on (03) 5452 1546 for assistance.
