Have your say on the Kerang CBD - Stage 2 redevelopment
Published on 11 September 2020
Residents are encouraged to have their say on the design of the Kerang CBD – Stage 2 redevelopment.
Work will occur in 2021 to rejuvenate Scoresby Street between Boundary and Fitzroy streets, providing a link between the Kerang Railway Station, the award-winning Victoria Square precinct and the Kerang Open Space Precinct.
“Inspired by the work undertaken by the development of the Kerang CBD Master Plan in 2013, Stage 2 of the Kerang CBD Redevelopment will build on works undertaken previously,” Tom O’Reilly said.
“These works are made possible by $1.317 million from the Federal Government’s $500 million Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, developed to support local jobs and the resilience of local economies to help communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Feedback is sought on the redevelopment’s proposed features, including tree, lighting and seating options, public art displays, signage, footpath surfaces and the incorporation of technology.
“Following on the upgrade of Victoria Square, it is important that we keep moving forward with freshening up the Kerang CBD,” Kerang Traders president, Robert Basile said.
Residents can learn more about the project and have their say via three Zoom meetings, occurring on the times outlined below:
- Tuesday, 15 September at 3pm. To attend this meeting, please click here.
- Wednesday, 16 September at 5.30pm. To attend this meeting, please click here.
- Monday, 21 September at 4pm. To attend this meeting, please click here.
Feedback can also be provided via a survey that includes options that may be considered in the final design, which can be downloaded by clicking here.
Copies can also be collected from Betta Electrical Kerang, Helen Macaulay Hair Studio, Rulcify’s and the Little Shoe Shop on Scoresby and returned to Council’s Kerang Customer Service Centre by 12 noon on Tuesday, 22 September.
“All feedback received will assist with the final design, which will develop new ways residents and visitors can interact within the Kerang CBD,” Mr O’Reilly said.
