Join the Big Summer Read and win some great prizes
Published on 04 December 2024
The Gannawarra Library Service-organised Big Summer Read is back for 2024/25, with local children and young adults who read or listen to books during the school holidays eligible for some great prizes.
This summer is the fourth time the library service has supported this Public Libraries Victoria program, which began yesterday and will run through to Friday, 31 January 2025.
“The Big Summer Read is a great reason for children and young adults to keep reading or experiencing audiobooks during the summer break,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“The program has grown to become a highlight of the Gannawarra Library Service’s annual events program, with staff renowned for supporting any children who wish to participate.”
As part of the program, children aged 0-18 years who register at least 10 books read online at https://readbooks.com.au/bsr will be in the running to win age-appropriate book packs as part of a Statewide competition.
The Gannawarra Library Service is also running its own competition for primary school students who are library service members. Children will be able to add one entry to win one of three $50 gift cards by reading or listening to 10 books. Bonus entries will also be given to children who visit their local library branch on five separate occasions.
