Kerang CBD asphalting works begin 10 May

Works scheduled to repair the road surface within Kerang’s business precinct will begin on Sunday, 10 May at 8pm.
The resurfacing of the length of Victoria Street in Kerang’s central business district and Scoresby Street between Fitzroy and Victoria streets will occur across three nights between 10-12 May, with works occurring on the Monday and Tuesday nights between 6pm and 6am.
“These works were scheduled to occur during the first week of May, but were delayed after parts of Victoria, including the Gannawarra, received the average April rainfall in the space of 48 hours,” Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.
The planned Kerang CBD roadworks, which are part of Council’s annual sealed road maintenance program, also include the profiling out of the old asphalt and laying of new asphalt at the intersection of Fitzroy and Scoresby streets.
The upgrade of the intersection of Scoresby and Victoria streets - which began in February but were delayed after Kerang received the average March rainfall in the space of 24 hours - will also be completed during these work.
“A holding seal was applied to the road surface at this intersection in mid-March, which reduced the level of dust raised by the number of motorists who use the intersection,” Mr O’Reilly said.
“Council thanks motorists, residents and business owners for their patience as these important works are undertaken.”
