Leitchville residents will benefit from improvements to the Kitchener Street playground once Coronavirus social distancing measures are lifted.
Council spent the majority of April completing improvements to the park, which link the venue to the adjoining Leitchville Preschool Play Centre.
“The Kitchener Street playground project has created a childhood health and recreation precinct residents can be proud to call their own,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
The works included the beautification of the nature strip outside the Leitchville Preschool Play Centre, the installation of new fencing, laying of new turf and planting of more than 350 shrubs and seven trees.
“Council looks forward to seeing residents and visitors enjoying this rejuvenated space once Coronavirus social distancing measures are lifted at a later date,” Mayor Learmonth said.
The improvements to the Kitchener Street playground are part of Council’s $10.877 million capital works program outlined in the 2019/2020 Council Budget.
