Online parenting workshops

CatholicCare Sandhurst’s Family and Relationship Services will be hosting a series of online parenting workshops across the region this July and August.
Initially scheduled to occur as in-person sessions in May, parents and guardians across Gannawarra will be able to participate in the regional online program from the comfort of home via Zoom.
“Being a parent or guardian can be challenging, and it can be difficult to find the right information available in the community,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
“The online workshops will focus on themes ranging from building positive relationships and increasing children’s confidence, to developing strategies to help parents understand boys’ needs.”
Five individual programs and an eight-week workshop are planned, with session details below:
Parenting Conversations for parents of pre-schoolers – Wednesday, July 15 (10.30am-12 noon)
Parenting Conversations for parents of primary school-aged children – Thursday, 16 July (12.30pm-2pm)
Parenting Conversations for parents of high school-aged children – Friday, 17 July (12.30pm-2pm)
Building Resilience in Kids – Monday, 20 July (7.30pm-9pm) and Friday, 24 July (10.30am-12 noon)
Bringing up Great Kids – Eight-week program running from Thursday, 23 July to Thursday, 10 September (12.30pm-2pm)
Boys Brains – Monday, 27 July (7.30pm-9pm) and Friday, 31 July (10.30am-12 noon)
“Each session is limited to a maximum of eight participants, with numbers to be confirmed seven working days before each session,” Mayor Learmonth said.
