Residents impacted by the October-December 2022 floods now have until Thursday, 13 July to apply for support via Agriculture Victoria’s Primary Producer Flood Recovery grants program.

The program, managed by Rural Finance on behalf of Agriculture Victoria, provides primary producers and small businesses with financial assistance to support relief and recovery efforts. This includes:

  • Primary Producer Clean-Up Relief Grants: Grants of up to $75,000 to cover the cost of the clean-up and get businesses up and running again.
  • Primary Producer Concessional Loans: Up to $250,000 to restore or replace damaged equipment and infrastructure, or to cover the short-term business expenses.
  • Rural Landholder Grants: Grants of up to $25,000 to cover the costs of disaster impacts for small-scale producers.
  • Primary Producer Transport Subsidies: Up to $15,000 to support the transport of emergency fodder or stock drinking water, and the movement of livestock.

“Council’s Community Flood Committee identified that the initial deadline of 30 April 2023 was causing anxiety for residents as it did not provide adequate time to fully assess how the floods have impacted their properties and gather the relevant information required to apply for assistance,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson.

“Council was pleased to advocate for the deadline extension, meaning residents now have extra time to submit an application for support.”
