Gannawarra Shire residents can now recycle their household glass bottles for free at any of Council’s transfer stations.

Thanks to funding from the State Government’s Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, designated glass recycling skip bins have been installed at the Cohuna, Kerang, Lalbert and Quambatook transfer stations, enabling all materials collected to be recycled and turned into new products.

“Adding a dedicated glass recycling collection service to our transfer stations is part of Council’s commitment to the rolling out of the State Government’s Kerbside Reform program,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.

“Residents who take their glass bottles to any of our transfer stations for recycling will help lower the contamination rates for materials collected via the yellow recycling bins.

“Council thanks the State Government for providing funding for this initiative and looks forward to the continued rollout of the Kerbside Reform program across Victoria.”
