Silver Award for 2019 Annual Report
Published on 24 June 2020
Gannawarra Shire Council’s 2019 Annual Report has been recognised at the Australasian Reporting Awards, with the 164-page document receiving a Silver Award.
Announced in June each year, the Australasian Reporting Awards are open to all organisations in Australia, New Zealand and countries in the Asia-Pacific Region and enable organisations to benchmark their reports against world best practice and their peers. Excellence in reporting is recognised with a Gold, Silver or Bronze Award.
“This is the second consecutive time Council’s Annual Report has received a Silver Award, with the 2018 Annual Report receiving the same accolade,” Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.
“The award means that the report meets the local government reporting requirements but also celebrates the highlights and achievements of Council and the wider community through simple and accessible language, layout and photographs.”
The 2019 Annual Report highlights Council’s performance and provides an update on its progress against the five Key Focus Areas outlined in the Gannawarra Shire Council Plan 2017-2021. It includes information prescribed by the Local Government Act together with the audited financial statements for the 2018-2019 financial year.
“Receiving this national recognition continues to build on Council’s work to promote the Gannawarra as a great place to live, visit and do business,” Mr O’Reilly said.
“I encourage the community to take a look at the document if they have not already done so.”
