Welcome to a Creative Gannawarra
Published on 12 March 2021
Gannawarra Shire Council’s efforts to support local creative people and organisations, as well as encourage community participation in the planning and delivery of creative projects, will come under a new banner – Creative Gannawarra.
Officially launched earlier this week, Creative Gannawarra replaces the Gannawarra Arts and Culture program, which has successfully involved Council partnering with the community in hosting arts and culture projects throughout the municipality.
“Council is proud of the work undertaken through the Gannawarra Arts and Culture program, but it is always important to continuously improve services provided to the community,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.
“The rebranding to Creative Gannawarra is dedicated to supporting local creative people, industries and organisations, which is important as we begin our social recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Creative Gannawarra also reflects the increasing popularity of arts, culture, sustainability, history and creative activation across all sectors of the community.”
A new logo has been developed to celebrate the launch of Creative Gannawarra, with the design selected by the Gannawarra’s creative community.
“Four options were developed for our proud creative community to choose from, with the winning logo selected by 61 per cent of respondents,” Mr O’Reilly said.
“The new logo is a clear and modern design that matches Council’s branding style, and will be rolled out throughout the community in the coming months.”
The rebranding will also see the Gannawarra Arts & Culture Newsletter become the Creative Gannawarra Newsletter. Residents can sign up to receive copies of the Creative Gannawarra Newsletter at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/CreativeGannawarra
A dedicated Facebook page has been created online at www.facebook.com/CreativeGannawarra, where residents can keep up to date with the latest news.
“Residents are encouraged to like the Creative Gannawarra Facebook page and sign up for the Creative Gannawarra Newsletter to stay updated as we roll out this new initiative throughout the municipality,” Mr O’Reilly said.
