Enrolments are now being taken for all of the Gannawarra Shire Council’s Kindergarten and Childcare Services.
Council manages and offers Kindergarten education at facilities located at Cohuna, Kerang, Koondrook and Leitchville.
Council also offers a Long Day Care service in Kerang, as well as Family Day Care services in Cohuna, Kerang and Leitchville.

Fees are set to allow the service to meet all operating expenses and remain payable even when your child is absent through illness or for any other reason.
Child Care Subsidy – Assistance to help you with the cost of child care
Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is paid directly to the child care provider to reduce the fees you pay
To register for CCS:
- Sign in to myGov and go to Centrelink
- Select Payment and Claims from the menu, then Claims, then Make a claim
- Under Families, select Get started
- Answer all the questions. Each screen has information to help you complete the claim. This includes how to submit your supporting documents
- Submit your claim
CCS will let you know the result of your claim via an Assessment Notice to your myGov inbox, or via post
Gannawarra Shire Council requires proof that your child is registered for CCS before any childcare can be confirmed, so please ensure a copy of your Assessment Notice is included with your child’s enrolment forms
