Graeme Pearson

You wouldn’t know it by looking at him, but Graeme Pearson had double knee replacement surgery just 6 months ago.

Graeme attributes his outstanding recovery to attending strength based training at Kerang's W.D Thomas Activity Centre twice a week.

Graeme said he would never have attended the centre if it wasn’t for his local doctor recommending it.

Pre-op, he went to the centre two times a week to strengthen his muscles so they would be best able to cope with the operation. Post-op, he is still attending twice a week, and feels little to no pain in his knees, only muscle tension while they are healing.

Graeme enjoys partaking in strength-based training as it is structured, you can go at your own pace and the staff are friendly.

Graeme also attends the Kerang Men’s Shed three times a week, and is currently building a dog kennel for his son. He said the Men’s Shed and W.D Activity Centre are both great places to meet new people, learn new skills and connect.

“It’s easy to become unmotivated as you get older, exercise helps you get out of the chair and do more.”
