Council manages the Kerang and Cohuna Outdoor Swimming Pools over the summer months from November to March and the year-round Kerang Exercise Pool.
A small but welcoming facility, the Kerang Exercise Pool is heated to between 30 and 34 degrees and provides access to warm water exercise within the Gannawarra.
Whether you are a parent with a young child, recovering from an injury, have a disability or even if you just want to keep active; the Kerang Exercise Pool is for you!
Bookings are essential (30-minute or one-hour blocks), which can be done by phoning (03) 5450 9345 during business hours.

Classes
Swimming is an important skill for children to learn. Our qualified and experienced AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia trained Swim Instructors will help develop your child’s aquatic education skills and knowledge by having fun, building confidence and learning skills that will be with them for life!
Warra Waders swim school is licensed to conduct the Royal Life Saving Society’s Swim and Survive Program. Swim and Survive is a national swimming and water safety program that aims to prevent drowning and increase the participation in safe aquatic activity.
Our swimming lessons are conducted for 30 minutes, once a week during Victorian school terms and are available for children from 6 months of age.

Cost
$11 per session paid as term enrolment.
The program runs in line with Victorian State Government school terms dates. Payment of swimming lesson fees must be made within the first two weeks of each term.

The Cohuna Swimming Pool features 3 outdoor pools (33.5m main pool, intermediate and toddler pools), waterslide, change rooms, kiosk and shaded seating.

The Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools will be closed on days the Bureau of Meteorology website’s forecast temperature for either town is 23 degrees Celsius or lower. Please note this policy is not applicable to the Morning Laps program and may not apply to planned activities, such as school bookings and VicSwim events.
Opening hours may be extended beyond scheduled closing time on days of extreme heat.
Venues may also close to the public when rain or thunderstorms are forecast.
Details on changes to operational hours will be promoted via Council's Facebook page.
Our pools have adopted Life Saving Victoria’s Watch Around Water pool safety program. As part of this program, the following guidelines are in place:
- Children under 5 years of age must be accompanied in the water by a parent (or carer) or person over the age of 16, remaining within arms reach.
- Children aged between 5 and 10 years of age must be clearly and constantly visible and remain directly accessible.
All children must be actively supervised at all times. Unsupervised children (of any age) will be removed from the water if the lifeguard is concerned for their safety.
