Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
Shocktober is a month-long campaign held during the month of October to highlight the importance of knowing where Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are located and to ensure that all AEDs are made publicly accessible and registered through Ambulance Victoria.
Gannawarra Shire Community Resilience Committee is committed to increasing public access to defibrillator machines across communities.
Does your community group have an AED device?
Council strongly encourage groups to make sure that your AED device is registered with Ambulance Victoria via this website 'Register my AED'
*Did you know, even if you originally registered your AED via Ambulance Victoria, if your AED device pads and/or batteries are out of date, your AED device will be removed from the register*
Registration with Ambulance Victoria is required for Ambulance Dispatch to be able to identify an AED in a cardiac arrest.
Below is some Frequently Asked Questions for AED owners and some information for if your group is considering purchasing an AED device.
