Residents were encouraged during April and May 2024 to have their say on the Draft Gannawarra Shire Onsite Wastewater Management Plan 2024-2029, which outlines Council’s obligations to prevent public health risk and contamination of the environment from the disposal of domestic wastewater.
The Draft Gannawarra Shire Onsite Wastewater Management Plan 2024-2029 assists Council’s Environmental Health Officers to fulfil their delegated responsibilities in the assessment of domestic wastewater systems operating, or intending to be installed, within the municipality and to provide appropriate strategies and actions to manage issues relating to onsite wastewater management
The latest version of this important document includes regulatory changes and key strategic actions that have been achieved since 2020, including the installation or expansion of town sewerage systems in Cohuna, Koondrook, Leitchville and Murrabit.
